The lid is used for an instant food container with hot water drip function to form a hot water draining port by cutting a corner of the container having a substantially rectangular opening part at a straight cutoff line. A laminate including a uniaxial oriented plastic film layer oriented in one direction is used for the material of the lid, and punched to a predetermined shape so that the direction of orientation of the uniaxial oriented plastic film layer is the same as the direction of the cutoff line. A cut is formed in at least one end of the cutoff line.
