PURPOSE: To prevent the deformation of an outer panel in the case when the lid of an automobile is strongly subjected to liquid pressure in a chemical treatment liquid tank and prevent the reduction of rigidity and strength due to the adhesive disorder between the outer panel and inner panel which constitute the lid.

CONSTITUTION: As for the lid structure of an automobile which is formed by joining the peripheral edge parts 9 and 10 of an outer panel 2 and an inner panel 3 and partially attaching plural parts at the center part surrounded by the peripheral edge parts 9 and 10 by an adhesive such as mastic sealer 11, a projection part 8 is formed at a prescribed part of the inner panel 3. In the state where the projection part 8 of the inner panel 3 is attached with the part of the outer panel 2 (e.g. bottom part 2c, etc.) which is relatively deformable by the liquid pressure applied in a chemical treatment liquid tank in the chemical treatment in a coating process, the outer panel 2 and the inner panel 3 are mutually joined.
