To provide a lidded container which dispenses with application of excessive force thereto by the user when a lid of the container is placed on/detached from the container, dispenses with special action of the user other than lifting up/down the lid, is available for containing hot water and cooled water therein, and prevents the lid from falling without performing any action when the contents is poured.

The container has a lid retaining ornament attached to a handle of a grip portion, which decorates the container and functions to retain the lid, and the container is formed such that the entire and part of the ornament moves according to gravity in a predetermined range and returns to their original locations. Thus when the container is inclined for pouring the contents, the lid retaining ornament moves toward the lid, and part of the lid retaining ornament further moves to change its shape fantastically and to interfere with the lid to support the same, to thereby conveniently prevent the lid from falling.
