The life guard plate 1 has surface plate parts 1AL and 1AR extending in the vertical direction in a front head part. In a center part of the front head part, hollow wedge-shaped lip parts 2L and 2R are provided at a lower end edge to guide an obstacle up to the outside of a rail. The lip part 2R has a planar lower side member 2RA extending in the horizontal direction and an upper side member 2RB welded on an upper side of the lower side member 2RA to constitute closed cross section. In the lip parts 2RA and 2RB, the front side parts are formed into triangular shapes in cross section, and the rear side parts are formed into square shapes in cross section.
