Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain an electrode profile substantially in a constant state during machining.
SOLUTION: This method and device are provided to apply electric discharge machining or electrolytic grinding on the curved surface of a workpiece 2 by an electrode 1. The electrode 1 is generally independently formed from the curved surface of the workpiece 2. To machine a curved surface, the electrode 1 is guided above the workpiece 2 along the front feed direction. The electrode 1 is inclined at an angle higher than 90° with the front feed direction in a state tangential to the surface of the workpiece 2.
