To provide a lifeboat having a hood allowing escaping rapidly and easily when the lifeboat capsizes.

This lifeboat comprises an air chamber formed in a ship shape and the hood 5 covering a portion surrounded by the air chamber. The hood comprises a hood for a lower part of a body 52 covering from a prow part B2 of the air chamber formed in the ship shape to a stern part B!, and a hood for an upper part of the body 51 covering at least the rest of the stern part. The hood for the lower part of the body is freely openable/closable by a slide fastener 521 and the hood for the upper part of the body is free of opening/ closing by a hook-and-loop fastener 511. Since the hood for the upper part of the body covering the upper part of the body is freely openable/closable by the hook-and-loop fastener, a sufficient escaping space can be obtained to allow escaping rapidly and easily by opening the hook-and-loop fastener.
