PURPOSE: To surely prevent the sway of a lift carriage and to stabilize ascent and descent by providing respectively a pair of first guide rollers and a pair of second guide rollers which are rolled in contact with the side faces and front end faces of guide masts at the upper and lower end sections of suspension stands.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of first guide rollers 31 and a pair of second guide rollers 32 are pivotally fitted to the upper and lower end sections of a pair of suspension stands 11, erected face to face at both the front and rear end sections of a lift carriage 10. The guide rollers 31 and 32 are rolled in contact with the side faces and the front end faces of guide masts 21 erected near vertical frame members 11a of the suspension stands 11, respectively. When the lift carriage 10 is lifted or lowered by a winding device, the lateral sway can be prevented by the guide rollers 31, and the longitudinal sway can be prevented by the guide rollers 32, respectively.
