PURPOSE: To provide a lift for a motorcycle which can be easily carried because of small and simple constitutiton and can reliably raise the motorcycle.

CONSTITUTION: A lift for a motorcycle is provided with a base stand 1, a vertically extensible contractible pantograph type jack 3 arranged on the base stand 1 and a car body placing stand 2 which is arranged above the jack 3 and is raised and lowered by extension-contaction of the jack 3. The car body placing part 2 is arranged by being dislocated backward more than the jack 3 so as to avoid contact-interference with a bifurcated stand 43 when the car body placing stand 2 is arranged in the front part vicinity of a stand pivotal part 44 of a car body frame 41, and the base stand 1 is formed by notching a contacting-interfering part with the bifurcated stand 43. A gripping device to grip the car body frame 41 is arranged on the car body placing stand 2. The base stand 1, the jack 3 and the car body placing stand 2 do not interfere with the bifurcated stand 43, and the car body placing stand 2 is reliably arranged backward more than the center of gravity of a car body.
