To provide a lift for a person to be nursed suited for use in bathing the person, or the like, capable of smoothly raising and lowering the person to be nursed only with manual force without requiring a power source.

This lift 1 for a person to be nursed includes: a column 4; a lateral post 5 placed rotatable about the column 4; pulleys 6 provided on both sides of the lateral post 5; a rope 7; body support 8 suspended from one end of the rope 7 for the person to be nursed; a weight receiver 9 suspended from the other end of the rope 7; and a rope control means 10 for raising and lowering the rope and for stopping it. The weight receiver 9 has a placement part 9a for a weight 12 and a height adjusting part 9b liftably provided along the column 4. The rope control means 10 is a mobile element liftable composed along the column 4 while being accompanied by the height adjusting part 9b, the mobile element being operated by means of a manual-operation handle part 10b.
