Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the impact energy absorbing structure by an interior material for automobile capable of stabilizing the energy absorbing performance and capable of preventing the appearance of distorsion generated at the time of molding to the inside surface of the interior material.
SOLUTION: The structure of absorbing the impact energy is provided with a space to be required for energy absorption and provided between an inner panel 200 and a pillar garnish 208, and an energy absorber 212 separately formed from the pillar garnish and fitted to one of the inner panel and the pillar garnish for arrangement inside of the space. The energy absorber is formed of a resin grid, and this grid has one or plural vertical ribs 214 extended in the longitudinal direction of the pillar garnish and plural lateral ribs 216 extended in a direction crossing the vertical ribs. At least one of the vertical ribs and the lateral ribs are inclined to the inner panel and the pillar garnish.
