To provide a lifting device which effectively utilizes and rationalizes the space in a pit, rationalizes constitution and construction of the pit, suppresses the jumboizing of the construction, reduces construction cost, smoothes and stabilizes the operation of a pit cover, and extends the life of the pit cover.
The lifting device is provided with a pit cover 29 capable of blocking up an opening part of the pit 2. The pit cover 29 is composed of a plurality of cover units 30. A part of the cover units 30 is connected to a movable lift 4 capable of moving along the pit 2. The pit cover 29 is constituted to be simultaneously movable with the movable lift 4. Mutually adjacent cover units 29 are foldably connected through a connecting member 37. A storage part 43 is provided facing a moving area of the movable lift 4. The plurality of cover units 30 folded in the storage part 43 can be housed. A shoulder 5 is provided in a protruding state the storage part 43 parallel to the moving direction of the movable lift 4 at the immediately below.
