To provide a lifting device for stairs capable of stably lifting a heavy object for stairs.
In a lifting device body of a three-layered structure, a lower stage moving table 10 having legs 1-4 of variable length, a middle stage moving table 20 having legs 5-8 of variable length, and a cargo bed 30 with a heavy object loaded thereon are connected to each other independently in a horizontally movable manner. A cargo bed level detector 80 for detecting the pitch angle and the roll angle of the cargo bed 30 is provided on the device body. A control device 100 controls the operations of lower stage leg driving devices 111-114 for driving the legs 1-4 of the lower stage moving table 10 and the operations of middle stage leg driving devices 115-118 for driving the legs 5-8 of the middle stage moving table 20 based on the detection signal of the cargo bed level detector 80 so as to maintain the horizontal balance of the cargo bed 30.
