PURPOSE: To provide a material handling equipment lifting gear equipped with a simplified automatic sling detachment mechanism requiring no power source in particular.

CONSTITUTION: A lifting rod 100 consists of a rod shaft part 102 installed with a stopper collar 104 at the lower end and an outer cylinder 110 installed with a pusher flange 112 at the lower end, and a grab means 200 is installed in a cylindrical frame upper end of equipment. When the liftint rod 100 is inserted into a round hole of a cover plate 202 in an upper end opening of the grab means 200, the pusher flange 112 depresses a split collar 204 via a pusher plate 224 after the stopper collar has passed through this split collar 204. Thus this collar 204 is pushed down and in proportion as its split collar piece 205 going down, it is guided by an inclined edge 212 of a guide incline member 216 and moved in the central direction, coming into a state of grabbing the rod shaft part 102, whereby a pressing plate 242 adds its pressing force to an outer circumference of the split collar 204, thus the holding state is prevented from being released.
