PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light amount adjustment device that is low cost, capable of energy conservation drive, and having high reliability.SOLUTION: A light amount adjustment device includes: driving means; first detecting means capable of detecting the position of the driving means; a driving member to be driven by the driving means; second detecting means capable of detecting an area where the driving member is located; and position calculation means capable of calculating the position of the driving member based on the position of the driving means detected by the first detecting means and the area where the driving member detected by the second detecting means is located.
