PURPOSE: To easily change over the perviousness and imperviousness to light within a short time by providing a means for supplying a mist of fluid between a pair of transparent substrates arranged in opposed relationship so as to provide a gap therebetween.
CONSTITUTION: When light control glass 10 is brought to a state impervious to light, a mist of steam is supplied to the gap A between glasses from a humidifier-dryer 4 through pipings 5, 6 and the inner surfaces of the glasses are made cloudy by steam to be made impervious to light. When steam is supplied excessively at this time, the inner surfaces of the glasses 1, 2 are excessively wetted and steam becomes waterdrops to damage light imperviousness and, therefore, the humidifier-dryer 4 is operated in connection with a dew condensation sensor 8 to supply a proper amount of steam. The steam supplied from the pipings 5, 6 and the liquid generated between the glasses 1, 2 are discharged from a drain port 7. When the supply of steam is stopped, the light control glass 10 brought to a light impervious state becomes pervious to light gradually. Therefore, pervious and impervious states can be instantaneously changed over without using a blindfolding material such as a curtain or a blind.
