PURPOSE: To provide the light control window which has a uniform and good transparent feel regardless of viewing angles in a transparent state and can make free graphic display by simple matrix driving.
CONSTITUTION: This light control window has a light control element 6 formed by inserting a film mixture 1 contg. a side chain type high-molecular liquid crystal contg. polyoxysetane in its main chain structure and contg. a crosslinked structure, a low-molecular liquid crystal and a slight amt. of electrolyte between a pair of transparent substrates 4 and 5 having transparent recording films 2, 3 and transparent surface heaters 7 laminated on at least one surface of this light control element 6. The side chain type high-molecular liquid crystal preferably contains the polyoxysetane in its main chain structure and has the crosslinked structure.
