To provide a woven or knit cloth having light-controlling property without using an additional material such as a light-shielding material.
A pair of ground weaves 1 and 2 are connected with each other by plural yarn rows 3 having a length capable of keeping a prescribed distance between the weaves. The yarn row 3 has a plane form produced by arranging a number of yarns woven into the ground weaves 1 and 2. The row is directed parallel to the ground weave to shield the light transmitting the weaves when the ground weaves 1, 2 are brought into contact with each other and directed nearly perpendicular to the ground weave to pass the transmitted light when the ground weaves 1, 2 are separated from each other. The light transmitting the ground weaves can be controlled by moving the ground weaves 1 and 2 and tilting the yarn rows 3.
