Abstract:
To provide a light diffusion element having excellent light diffusion property and capable of controlling light transmittance in accordance with polarization direction, a method for manufacturing the same, and a polarization filter.SOLUTION: A light diffusion element 1 includes aggregation 3 of liquid crystal molecules 4 in a nematic phase, dispersed in a matrix 2 containing acrylic resin having a urethane bond and having an elongated anisotropic-shape in a specific direction. The liquid crystal molecule 4 is an oriented. A degree of orientation order (FT-IR measurement) of the liquid crystal molecule 4 is preferably 0.01 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
