PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emission control device that enables the number of monitor light emission times to be optimized.SOLUTION: A light emission control device comprises: an input unit 11 to which a photograph condition is input from a lens barrel 20; an amount-of-monitor light emission determination unit 11 that determines an amount of monitor light emission to be emitted from the light emitting unit 32 on the basis of the photograph condition input in the input unit 11; and a monitor light emission control unit 11 that controls emission of the monitor light in the light emitting unit 32 according to the amount of monitor light emission determined by the amount-of-monitor light emission determination unit 11.
