Abstract:

To allow an LED flash light source to emit light in a single shot and to emit light in repeated instant shots in a short time.

In a light emission control method of an LED flash light source, instant light emission is repeated by repeating, with a preliminarily set frequency, the operation of causing an LED flash light source to emit light for a preliminarily set time (in an instant shot) and then turn off in accordance with a preliminarily set repetitive light emission interval, when an operation start signal of an external device is detected. A repetitive operation instruction signal is provided separately from the operation start signal of the external device, and repetition of instant light emission of LED flash is allowed while the repetitive operation instruction signal is effective. An LED driving unit generates reference voltages of current values for flashing operation and constantly lighting operation on the basis of control signals from a fundamental timing control unit and a brightness control unit and can drive an LED by supplying a set value to the LED on the basis of one of the reference voltages selected by a switch.
