To provide a light emitter which avoids alloying a conductive material with a material for making a light reflective layer and has a superior light radiation efficiency and a superior light emitting efficiency.
The light emitter comprises wiring layers 3A, 3B on the surface of a sub-mount element 3, an Au layer 32 formed as a conductive layer on the sub-mount element 3, and a Cr layer 31 on the Au layer 32 for forming a light reflective layer. The Cr layer 31 has pattern-eliminated parts 31A for bonding Au bumps 4 to the Au layer 32. This avoids alloying the Au layer 32 with the Cr layer 31 and hence suppresses the growth of residues due to the reduction of the etching rate while ensuring the light reflectivity, thus preventing an electrode pattern from being short-circuited, etc. to obtain a light emitter 1 superior in reliability.
