Title:
LIGHT EMITTING AND ABSORBING LIQUID CRYSTAL LENS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02140719
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a lens which emits and absorbs light by joining a liquid crystal film integrally to the inside or the outside of a lens and energizing this liquid crystal film. CONSTITUTION:RGB (three primary colors) elements of a light emitting diode (LED) are made of liquid crystal, and a liquid crystal film 2 which emits green light in a voltage A and emits blue light in a voltage B and emits red light in a voltage C is joined integrally to the inside or the outside of each of lenses 1 and 3 to obtain an optical lens which has completely the capability to emit or absorb the light having a required wavelength. Thus, only the transmissive light having the required wavelength can be fetched, and characteristics essential to the lens, namely, light diffraction and diffusion are used and displayed in a new field.
