A strobe device comprises a LED strobe 106 provided with multiple colored LEDs. The luminous color temperature of the LED strobe 106 can be changed by changing the light emission amount ratio according to each of the LED colors. A CPU 101 and an image color distribution determination circuit 109 determine, according to a color distribution of an image data obtained by imaging with light emission of the LED strobe, a color temperature data of the image data as image color temperature data. The CPU and a color measurement sensor 107 determine a color temperature corresponding to light emission by the LED strobe as a set luminous color temperature data. The CPU and a voltage/current control circuit 105 control the light emission amount for each of the LED colors based on the image color temperature data and the set luminous color temperature data.
