Abstract:
To provide a light-emitting device, vehicle headlamp, and illumination apparatus which can efficiently form a clear edge in a light-emitting section and hence efficiently form a clear edge of a projection pattern on a projection surface.
A headlamp 1 comprises: a laser chip 11 that emits excitation light; a light-emitting section 4 that contains a phosphor; and an optical rod 13A. Excitation light emitted from the laser chip 11 is optically guided by the optical rod 13A, and light output from the optical rod 13A irradiates the light-emitting section 4. An edge is present in the light intensity distribution of the light-emitting section 4.
