To provide a compact light-emitting device capable of controlling light distribution at low cost.
In an LED chip 1, one island-shaped LED thin-film section 3 is formed at each of a plurality of virtual regions surrounded by the center of a lower surface 21 of a regular hexagonal shape of a transparent pyramid 2 in a six-sided pyramid shape made of an n type ZnO crystal and both the edges of part of an outer periphery line of the lower surface 21. A pair of cathode anode and anode electrodes 5, 4 allowing each LED thin-film section 3 to emit light separately is formed at the side of the lower surface 21 of the transparent pyramid 2. On a packaging substrate 6, conductor patterns 65, 64 for feeding power to each pair of cathode and anode electrodes 5, 4 of the LED chip 1 are formed on an insulating base material 61.
