To provide a light emitting device which keeps constant the distance between a light emitting element and a light guiding body without depending on the direction of the light emitting device, which prevents leakage of light from the light emitting element to the outside, and has improved quality without requiring increase in the number of components.
The light emitting device 10 includes a substrate 14 mounted with the light emitting element 12, a casing 22 inside which the substrate 14 is arranged, and a cover part 24 positioning and holding the substrate 14 by being attached to the casing 22 while abuts on a mounting face 16 of the substrate 14. The cover part 24 includes a cylindrical part 80 in which the light guide body 25 to which the light emitted from the light emitting element 12 is guided, is mounted, and first stopper parts 86a, 86b preventing the movement of the light guide body 25 to a side where the substrate 14 is located, and second stopper parts 92a, 92b preventing the movement of the light guide body 25 to a side opposite to the side where the substrate 14 is located, are formed on the inner face of the cylindrical part.
