Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which uniformly emits light even if a number of lamps of a light source is significantly reduced and achieves space saving and low costs without being subject to limitations on the base design.SOLUTION: A light emitting device 1 includes: a plate-like transparent material 10; and a light source 2. The transparent material 10 includes: a disc-shaped body part 10a including a light emitting surface 14 and an outer peripheral surface 13; and a light incident part 12 which causes light to travel in a direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface 14 and enter into the body part 10a. The light incident part 12 includes: a stem portion 22 extending from an incident surface 12a and branch portions 12b, 12c which is branched from the stem portion 22 into two or more portions to be smoothly connected with the body part 10a. A cavity 12g which is recessed toward the incident surface 12a is formed between the branch portions 12b, 12c.
