Title:
LIGHT EMITTING DIODE ARRAY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3311922
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode array which is lessened in the number of the separate electrodes of light emitting diodes.
SOLUTION: This light emitting diode array comprises a first conductivity- type first island-like semiconductor layer 2 and a first conductivity-type second island-like semiconductor layer 3 laminated so as to make the island-like semiconductor layer 2 partially exposed, and a common electrode 5 or separate electrodes 4 are provided to be connected to the first island-like semiconductor layer 2 and the second island-like semiconductor layer 3. In this case, the separate electrode 4 is provided to every two adjacent first island-like semiconductor layers 2 and every two second island-like semiconductor layers 3, the second island-like semiconductor layer 3 above one of the two first island-like semiconductor layers 2 and the first island-like semiconductor layer 2 below one of the second island-like semiconductor layers 3 are connected to the common electrode 5 different from that connected to the second island-like semiconductor layer above the other first island-like semiconductor layer 2 and the first island- like semiconductor to layer 2 below the other seconds island-like semiconductor layer 3.
