To avoid the non-lighting of the whole one row of a light-emitting diode connected in series by a simple constitution in the case of the defective opening of the light-emitting diode.
Compensating elements 63 are connected in parallel with each of a plurality of the light-emitting diodes connected in series, and conductors 83 and 84 having a specified melting point are fitted near each terminal 81 and 82 on the positive electrode side and the negative electrode side. When the defective opening is generated in the light-emitting diode, a heat generated in a resistance element 86 is transferred to conductors 83 and 84 fitted to the compensating elements 63 connected in parallel with the light-emitting diode. The conductors 83 and 84 are melted when they reach a fixed temperature, and a section between both terminals 81 and 82 is melted by the conductors 83 and 84. Consequently, a current flows between the terminals 81 and 82 through the conductors 83 and 84, and the terminals 81 and 82 are short-circuited. The other light-emitting diodes connected in series are lit continuously while avoiding the light-emitting diode in the defective opening.
