Title:
LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE LUMINAIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009129785
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To easily use a cover body for both types, one that diffuses and emits light from a light-emitting diode and the other that emits the light without diffusing it, in a light-emitting diode luminaire provided with a cover body of a light-emitting diode.

In the cover body 7 formed of a resin molding, its upper surface 7a is formed into a smooth surface, and its lower surface 7b facing the light-emitting diode 6 is formed into a rough surface 7c having fine irregularity. On the rough surface 7c, a light-transmission layer 7d is formed of a resin material having a refractive index nearly equal to that of the cover body 7. The light-transmission layer 7d is formed by dripping a resin on the cover body 7 mounted upside down in a manufacturing process of the cover body 7. Accordingly, light emitted from the light-emitting diode 6 generally linearly passes through the cover body 7 without diffusing. By using the cover body 7 without forming the light-transmission layer 7d thereon as it is, the light from the light-emitting diode 6 is diffused by the rough surface 7c, and thereby the cover body can be shared with a diffusion type luminaire.
