PURPOSE: To prevent the outside end of an electrode from hanging down to side of a light emitting diode array, by slightly shifting the center of the outermost side electrode of the light emitting diode array from the center of the corresponding light emitting diode to the inside of the array.

CONSTITUTION: A large number of light emitting diodes 4 are arranged on the straight line at constant intervals in a row and electrodes 5 are respectively provided so as to be connected to the light emitting diodes 4 to constitute a light emitting diode array 2. A large number of the light emitting diode array 2 are parallelly arranged on an insulating substrate 1 in a row to constitute a light emitting diode printing head. In this printing head, the electrodes 51, 52 arranged at least to both left and right outsides of each light emitting diode array 2 are positioned so that the center thereof is slightly shifted from the center of the light emitting diodes 41, 42 connected to the electrodes to the central side of the light emitting diode array 2. By this constitution, because a gap is generated at least between the outside end of the outermost side electrode and the left and right side ends of the array without changing the dimension of the array, the outside end of the electrode is prevented from hanging down to the side end of the array by dicing and the restriction on dicing technique is alleviated and high productivity with good yield is achieved.
