PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting diode having the good color mixing property of light, which is emitted by a light-emitting element with light generated by a fluorescent substance.
SOLUTION: This light-emitting diode is a light-emitting diode having a light-emitting element 102, which is formed on a substrate, is provided with a luminous layer consisting of a gallium nitride compound semiconductor layer and can perform a blue light emission, a coating part provided on the element 102 and a molded member 104 for protecting the coating part, a coating member 101 absorbes at least one part of blue light from the element 102 and converts the wavelength of the one part of the blue light to contain a yellow photoluminescence fluorescent substance to generate fluorescence and at the same time, a diffused material for changing the color of the member 104 into a milk white is contained in the member 104.
