To provide a light emitting element which has a good luminous efficiency and little deterioration, exhibits good light emission efficiency and exhibits small deterioration of phosphorescence, exhibits good phosphorescence efficiency and exhibits small green to blue phosphorescence, and has a small increase in driving voltage.SOLUTION: A light emitting element includes an anode 101, a cathode 102, and an EL layer 103 sandwiched between the anode 101 and the cathode 102. The EL layer 103 includes a light emitting layer 113, an electron transporting layer 114 provided in contact with the light emitting layer 113 on the cathode 102 side, and an electron injection layer 115 provided in contact with the electron transporting layer 114 and the cathode 102. The light emitting layer 113 has a phosphorescent material and a host material, the light emitting layer 113 has an electron transporting property higher than that of a hole transporting property, The electron transporting layer 114 includes a substance including an anthracene skeleton, and the electron injection layer 115 includes an organic compound.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
