Title:
LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3211271
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a light emitting element using a field emission element having little leak luminescence and capable of performing high-intensity color display.
CONSTITUTION: A cathode substrate 2 and an anode substrate 9 constituting a vacuum envelope are faced to each other. A field emission element 3 is provided on the inner face of the cathode substrate 2. An anode 12 constituted of picture elements R, G, B having phosphors (r), (g), (b) is formed on the inner face of the anode substrate 9. A control electrode 15 is provided between both substrates 2, 9. Opening sections 16 with the sizes corresponding the picture elements are formed on the control electrode 15 for the picture elements R, G, B. Electrons emitted from the field emission element 3 are focused by the opening sections 16 of the control electrode 15 to reach the picture elements.
