Abstract:

To provide an optical door opening/closing display means which can be arranged at a position to be easily observed by passengers of a railway vehicle, and can be provided at a cost as low as possible.

The present invention is related to a vertical grip bar provided in the neighborhood of an entrance door of the railway vehicle. A transparent acrylic resin bar having a smooth outer peripheral surface is inserted and fixed into a hollow metallic bar provided with longitudinally elongated holes for transmitting light. A slender belt shape rough surface is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the acrylic resin bar so as to coincide with the elongated holes for transmitting light. One end of the hollow metallic bar is closed by a reflection plate, and a lighting unit by means of a high luminance LED is fixed to the other end. The other end surface of the acrylic resin bar is illuminated by means of the lighting unit.
