PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate which can efficiently transmit incident light and project it from a projection surface in an advantageous-to-view direction with good light parallelism, can reproject and effectively reuse even reincident light passed through a polarized light separating means in a stage of small loss such as scattering with good consistency to the direction of the initial projection light, and has good light utilization efficiency.
SOLUTION: A plate body consists of the projection surface 11, a bottom surface 12 which faces it, and an incidence surface 13 formed of a side end surface between the projection surface and bottom surface and has projection parts or recessed parts consisting of slanting surfaces along the incidence surface periodically on the bottom surface 12; and the slanting surfaces each consists of a long-side surface and a short-side surface on the basis of the straight light connecting the intersection with the bottom surface and the vertex, the absolute value of the tilt angle of the short-side surface to the projection surface gradually increases on the basis of the incidence surface within a range of 30 to 50° while the absolute value of the tilt angle of the long-side surface to the projection surface gradually varies within a range of 1 to 10°, and the long-side surface is positioned on the incidence surface side when consisting of the projection parts and on the side end side facing the incidence surface when consisting of the recessed parts.
