Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject sewing thread capable of sewing at a high speed under a high tension without fluffing by mutually bonding plural high- tension and low-elongation aromatic polyamide fiber yarns near the central part with thermal melting of heat bonding filament yarn and coating the surface with a light-resisting agent-containing resin.

CONSTITUTION: Plural high-strength and low-elongation aromatic polyamide fiber yarns are passed through respective nip rollers 3 and led to each slit hole (4a) of a twisting guide 4, together with a heat bonding filament yarn 2, directly led to a slit hole (4b) of the twisting guide 4 without passing through the nip rollers 3, intertwisted and wound through a traveler 5 onto a winding bobbin 6. The surface of the resultant sewing thread is then coated with a resin 7 containing a light-resisting agent to afford the objective sewing thread in which mutual aromatic fibers 1 are bonded with thermal melting of the heat bonding filament yarn 2 near the central part of the sewing thread and the surface of the sewing thread is coated with the resin 7 containing the light- resisting agent.
