PURPOSE: To increase the extraction efficiency between a light liq. and a heavy liq. by arranging a diffuser plate having a specified opening area at the lower large-diameter part of a hollow cylindrical vessel, and providing a light liq. supply port having a glass-ball filter above the diffuser plate.
CONSTITUTION: The heavy liq. as the raw material is uniformly supplied from the upper heavy liq. supply line 1 of a countercurrent extraction tower 5 through a nozzle 9, and sent downward through a countercurrent contact part 6. Meanwhile, the light liq. at the extractant is supplied from a light liq. supply line 2 at the lower part of the tower 5 through an inlet part 10, sent upward through the contact part 6 as fine particles from the glass-ball filter 11 to extract the specified components in the heavy liq., and drawn off from a line 4. In this case, the opening area of a diffuser part 7 provided at the wide lower part of the tower is made larger than the cross-sectional area of the upper contact part 6, and hence the fine particles from the glass-ball filter 11 are efficiently diffused in the heavy liq. descending at a high velocity.
