PURPOSE: To extremely compress hardware configuration to a small scale.
CONSTITUTION: (n) expansion modules 211-21n are connected in series, and a control signal of frequency 1/(2Δt) is supplied from a signal generator 22 to the module 211, and also, it is supplied to (n-1) 1/2-frequency dividers 231-23n-1 connected in series. Each out of them is supplied to the modules 212-21n as a control signal, respectively. At each of the modules 211-21n, an input pulse string is distributed to optical fibers 25, 26 alternately at every pulse by an optical switch 24, and each output light pulse is synthesized by an optical coupler 27. The optical switch of each of the modules 211-21n is controlled by an inputted control signal, respectively. Delay time difference between the optical fibers 25 and 26 at the module 21m at an m-th stage is set at (2m-1) (k.2n-1) Δt(k: positive integer). A light pulse string 11 whose pulse interval Δt consists of N pulses is inputted to the 1st stage module 211 being sufficiently delayed from a preceding light pulse string, and the pulse interval of the emitted light pulse of the module 21n goes to k2nΔt.
