PURPOSE: To obtain the light receiving element circuit having a sensitivity variable function able to vary the light receiving sensitivity and to control the polarity of an output from each light receiving element in which values of bipolar outputs of the light receiving element circuit are made in matching with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A potential of a light receiving element 3 is led to a MOS transistor(TR) 15 in a noninverting output circuit and a MOS TR 17 in an inverting output circuit to control each conductance of each circuit. When a selector switch 16 is closed, a current flows from a power supply voltage terminal 6 to an output terminal 5 (noninverting output), and when a selector switch 18 is closed, a current flows from the output terminal 5 to a ground terminal 4 (inverting output). The potential of the output terminal 5 is a difference of a threshold voltage between the MOS TRs 15, 17 and the design of the noninverting output circuit and the inverting output circuit is easily designed to make values of output currents from both the circuits equal to each other by specifying a potential of the output terminal.
