PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shieldable photosensitive material roll which may be easily manufactured without exchanging a light shielding leader in compliance with the transverse size of the photosensitive material roll.
SOLUTION: This light shieldable photosensitive material roll comprises the photosensitive material roll 1, a disk-shaped light shielding member 4 and the light shielding leader 5 which is joined to the front end of the long-sized photosensitive material sheet 3 of the photosensitive material roll, is longer in the length than the circumference of the disk-shaped light shielding member and wider in the width than the width of the long-sized photosensitive material sheet and has relatively great thermal shrinkage in a longitudinal direction. The light shielding leader 5a is formed by cutting off the light shielding leader from the broad long-sized heat shrinkable light shielding sheet having the width greater than the circumference of the disk-shaped light shielding member and having the thermal shrinkage rate at 100°C relatively greeter in the transverse direction than the longitudinal direction and joining the sheet to the photosensitive material sheet in such a manner that the direction where the thermal shrinkage rate thereof is relatively larger is aligned to the long direction of the long-sized photosensitive material sheet.
