PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the responsiveness of a light source device to changes in load.SOLUTION: An LED lighting circuit 10 comprises: a power conversion part 100 for generating a drive current Iout flowing through N LEDs 40-1 to 40-N: and a control part 108. The power conversion part 100 includes a transfer capacitor 106 provided between a primary circuit 102 and a secondary circuit 104. The primary circuit 102 is configured such that a first inductor 114 stores energy when a first switching element 116 is in an ON-state. The secondary circuit 104 is configured such that a second inductor 120 regulates the change speed of the drive current Iout. The power conversion part 100 is configured such that the drive current Iout is increased when the first switching element 116 is in an ON-state. The control part 108 turns off the first switching element 116 when the magnitude of the drive current Iout exceeds a first threshold, and turns on the first switching element 116 when the magnitude of the drive current Iout becomes lower than a second threshold smaller than the first threshold.
