Abstract:

To provide a light source device for thinning by preparing a sub-reflecting mirror and raising utilization efficiency of light by correcting refraction of the light, and a projector using the light source device.

The light source device 2 includes a light-emitting tube 11 having a bulb body 15 for sealing a pair of electrodes 3, 4 and emitting light by forming an arc between the electrodes, and the sub-reflecting mirror 13 for covering a part of the circumference of the bulb body and reflecting the light emitted from the light-emitting tube, and the main reflecting mirror 12 for reflecting the light emitted from the light-emitting tube and the light reflected by the sub-reflecting mirror. The sub-reflecting mirror includes an aspheric reflecting surface 13a.
