Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that can improve the efficiency of use of light and reduce the size thereof, and efficiently cool a wavelength conversion element.SOLUTION: A light source device includes: a light emitting element that emits excitation light; a wavelength conversion element 62 that has a light emission surface 62A; an optical element 63 that has a light incident surface 63A on which light emitted from the light emission surface 62A is made incident, the light incident surface 63A arranged opposite to the light emission surface 62A; a gap 6G that is provided between the light emission surface 62A of the wavelength conversion element 62 and the light incident surface 63A of the optical element 63; and a spacer 64 that holds the gap 6G so that light made incident on the light emission surface 62A from the inside of the wavelength conversion element 62 at an incident angle equal to or larger than a critical angle can be totally reflected.
