In a reception device 100r, a light control notification transmission unit 1A0r transmits a light shutdown notification requesting the output stop of an optical signal, to a transmission device 100s connected thereto through an operation route, and a light input break detection threshold value controller 177r sets a light level measured by a PD monitor 175r, as a light input break detection threshold after the transmission device 100s stops outputting the optical signal in response to the shutdown notification transmitted by the light control notification transmission unit 1A0r.
