Title:
LIGHT-TRANSMITTING GLASS BODY AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0578136
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an illumination equipment using a metallic wire as a conductor for electric power and capable of preventing heating by ventilating a metallic wire and rich in decorating property by sealing the metal wire (tube) in the interior of a light transmitting glass body having a three-dimensional shape and forming the peripheral edge in an arbitrary shape.

CONSTITUTION: An illumination equipment 1 becomes a glove to a main light source 5 and becomes a conductive wire body to arbitrary light sources 6 (e.g. miniature bulbs) provided in the peripheral edge. The illumination equipment 1 consists of a glass body 2 formed in three-dimensional shape, electrically conductive wire (e.g. copper wire) 3 sealed therein, socket 7 for electric wire, electric source end part 18 and light source end part 19. The equipment 1 is produced as follows: a prescribed three-dimensional mold is provided on, a rotating disc and melted light transmitting glass is charged into the mold and extruded by a first plunger and then rotated and a metallic wire (tube) to which oxidation-preventing resin coating film is applied and having prescribed form is put in the mold and light-transmitting melted glass is charged on the upper face and then pressed by the second plunger to provide an illumination equipment 1 consisting of the glass body having three-dimensional shape.
