To hold and adjust a light tunnel of a projection device such as a digital projector for business, educational, government and/or entertainment applications.
A light tunnel retention and adjustment mechanism 600 for holding and aligning a light tunnel 610 in a light tunnel assembly includes one or more first compliant spring fingers 640 that are abutted on the light tunnel along a first surface so as to give a compliant spring force for adjusting alignment of the light tunnel in a first axis and fixedly holding the light tunnel in predetermined position in the first axis. The light tunnel retention and adjustment mechanism further includes one or more second compliant spring fingers 645 that are abutted on the light tunnel along a second surface so as to give a compliant spring force for adjusting alignment of the light tunnel in a second axis and fixedly holding the light tunnel in predetermined position in the second axis. The light tunnel retention and adjustment mechanism may be formed as a single piece.
