This light weight wheel for the automobile consists of a rim 2 which consists of an outside flange part 2a, an outside bead seat part 2b, an outside side wall part 2c, a drop part outside R part 2h, a drop part, a drop part inside R part 2i, an inside side wall 2i part, an inside bead seat part 2f and an inside flange part 2g, and a disk 3 including a disk rise part 3a to be fitted to a back side of the drop part 2d of the rim 2. A fitting length of the back side of the drop part 2d of the rim 2 and the disk rise part 3 is established in a range between 0-15mm and a mass removing part G is formed at a part of the back side of the drop part 2d of the rim 2 which is not fitted to the disk rise part 3a. Thickness of the drop part 2d of the rim where the mass removing part G is established between 90-40% of the thickness of the drop part outside R part 2h or the drop part inside R part 2i.
