To automatically adjust the irradiation angle of lighting to obtain the optimal irradiation range according to the operation of a zoom lens of a camera.
In response to control over the zoom lens 11 of the camera 1 to a wide-angle direction by a lens control portion 31, an image capture portion 33 inputs the video signal of the camera 1 as a still picture, an image processing portion 34 cuts an image of one point of a center part and four points of a peripheral part, i.e. five cutting points in total out of the captured image and compares the mean luminance value of the four points of the peripheral part with the luminance value of the center part, and the image processing portion 34 transmits a lighting control signal to a controller 4 when the difference in luminance value is larger than a specified threshold. Then the controller 4 adjusts irradiation angles of lighting units 2-1 and 2-2 to wider angles according to the lighting control signal from the image processing portion 34.
