To provide a lighting apparatus which uses a light control mirror material.

The lighting apparatus comprises an inner transparent cover 21 which is provided at the inside of an illumination cover 20 surrounding an electric bulb 11 and a light control mirror layer 30 which is laminated on the inner transparent cover 21 and contains a hydride of rare earth metal such as magnesium-nickel based alloy thin film that is transformed in physical property from the mirror face state to a transparent state by controlling applied voltage. Therefore, when the light control mirror layer 30 is in the transparent state, irradiation state of normal state is secured and when the light control mirror layer 30 is in the mirror face state, the irradiation range is controlled by the mirror reflection of the light control mirror layer 30 and an irradiation state different from the normal state is obtained.
